Job Description
We are seeking an exceptional BC/BE Obstetrician to join us in our Mission to Care, Mission to Cure at Wake Forest Baptist Health. The Obstetrician will be primarily responsible for peripartum and intrapartum care of our obstetric patients. Additional responsibilities include on site coverage of gynecologic emergencies. The successful candidate will work independently and in a collaborative practice with other faculty in the Ob/Gyn division.
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- MD degree
- Ob/Gyn Residency
- North Carolina licensure or eligible
- Interest in clinical trials and research
- Interest in academic setting
Essential functions include: Obstetric patient care including management of routine labor and delivery and surgical intervention as necessary, electronic medical record documentation, and direct inpatient and emergency care. The Obstetrician will teach medical students and residents in the emergency room and inpatient settings through didactic, bedside, and surgical teaching. He or she will also manage patients involved in clinical trials and should have an interest in clinical research. This position offers clearly defined, reliable hours to create a family friendly work schedule and also the ability to incorporate research if desired. We support a new, patient-centered model of pregnancy care that allows for minimal distractions to the physician so he/she can focus on the laboring patient.
