Wake Forest Baptist Health (WFBH) seeks Infectious Diseases Specialist to join the Section on Infectious Diseases in the Department of Internal Medicine. The section is looking for an exceptional clinician/educators or clinician/scientists to join us in our Mission to Care, Mission to Cure. The successful applicant will be appointed at the Instructor or Assistant Professor rank depending on qualifications. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
MD/DO Board certified in Internal Medicine and Board eligible/certified in Infectious Diseases;
Record of clinical and service excellence with dedication to high quality care;
Interest and demonstrated commitment to undergraduate and graduate medical education and/or clinical research;
North Carolina licensure or eligible
WFBH is a Ryan White-funded, high-quality provider of HIV services in North Carolina with > 2000 clients, and has active solid organ and hematopoietic stem cell transplantation programs, a comprehensive cancer center, level 1 trauma services and a full range of health care activities provided in the Wake Forest Baptist Health System and our affiliated VA Medical Center.
This position offers an exciting opportunity to blend Internal Medicine inpatient and Infectious Diseases (ID) inpatient/outpatient clinical practices. Depending on interest, the selected candidate will play key roles in medical student, resident, and fellow teaching and/or participate in our active clinical trials research programs. The position is a joint appointment with our affiliated VA Medical Center in Salisbury, NC with protected academic time for teaching/research. Compensation and benefits package will be competitive making this position attractive financially as well as professionally. The selected candidate will join an esteemed team of 11 full-time faculty members, 3 physician-extenders, and an integrated ID PharmD Residency Program in the Infectious Diseases Section. Current WFBH ID faculty expertise and academic interests include: antibiotic stewardship, hepatitis C, HIV medicine, health system epidemiology/infection control, infections in immunocompromised hosts, infections/immunity in older adults, public health, and sexually transmitted infections.
