The Department of Surgery at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC is seeking a faculty member at the Assistant/Associate Professor level to join our abdominal transplant program. Faculty rank and financial compensation is commensurate with experience and credentials. The applicant's main clinical focus should include kidney transplantation, kidney/pancreas transplantation, laparoscopic donor nephrectomy and multi-organ procurement while an interest in vascular access surgery is encouraged. Interest in clinical, translational or outcomes based research is also possible. Candidates should be board certified/eligible, a graduate of an ASTS approved transplant surgery fellowship program and eligible for an unrestricted State of North Carolina medical license. The successful candidate should be able to perform kidney and pancreas transplants, laparoscopic donor nephrectomy and multi-organ procurement independently. In addition, the candidate will actively participate in the education of transplant surgery fellows (in our ASTS-approved kidney transplant surgery fellowship training program), general surgery and urology residents, medical students and transplant advanced care providers. The candidate would join 4 experienced kidney and pancreas transplant surgeons in a mature practice with a long history of productivity and success in both live donor and deceased donor kidney and pancreas transplantation.
