The Department of Microbiology and Immunology at Wake Forest School of Medicine is seeking an MD, Ph.D or MD-PhD to fill a tenure track position in Cancer Immunology at any level. Successful candidates will be expected to maintain an independent research program and to participate in the teaching of graduate and medical students. While the primary appointment will be in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology, successful candidates will be expected to establish collaborations with members of the NCI-designated Wake Forest Comprehensive Cancer Center (http://www.wakehealth.edu/Comprehensive-Cancer-Center), who are engaged in a broad array of basic and translational research programs. Although applications at all levels are encouraged, those with established records of productivity and funding (particularly NCI) are considered ideal candidates.
The Department of Microbiology and Immunology has a highly collaborative, research intensive faculty that crosses the disciplines of immunology, virology, and bacteriology. Information on the department may be viewed at http://www.wakehealth.edu/MicroBio/.
The department is housed in Wake Forest Biotech Place, a new state-of-the-art research facility in the heart of the growing Piedmont Triad Research Park located in downtown Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Additional research collaborations exist with the nearby Wake Forest Institute for Regenerative Medicine (WFIRM), a world class research program in the development of regenerative and stem cell therapies as well as the WR primate facility and The Sticht Center on Aging.
