Job Summary: Mentored Physician Assistant Trainee/Fellow is a one year pilot program in postgraduate training for physician assistants in Orthopaedics. The training provides a pathway for the graduate to gain teaching experience and engage in patient care. The trainee/fellow will be involved in an in-depth study of Orthopaedic curriculum weighed against best practices.
Education/Experience: Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program
Licensure, Certification and/or Registration: PA Certification
1. Will provide patient care in an Orthopaedic ambulatory setting
2. Will provide patient care within the inpatient Orthopaedic service
3. Will have teaching responsibilities in the PA program
4. Participates in an in-depth needs assessment of Orthopaedic curricula within the MMS program
Skills and Qualifications:
1. Health Care Team Rapport
2. Excellent treatment plan/management ability
3. Ability to accept and receive feedback from a clinical supervisor
- Current American Graduation from an accredited/PA Program
- Licensed by the NC Medical Board of Examiners
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent oral and written communications skills
- Heart Assoc. BLS and ACLS
