Primarily responsible for the clinical activities of the section including access to care, quality of care and patient safety. The section chief provides leadership through effective communication, team building, strategy development, goal setting and mentoring. In addition, the section chief is responsible for promoting subspecialty specific education for medical students, residents and community physicians and encouraging members of the section to engage in scholarly activities. This position will also be responsible for providing high quality, subspecialty specific clinical care in a timely and courteous manner, in the inpatient and outpatient setting.
