Bailey Park

Bailey Park

Bailey Park, an urban green space, is located in downtown Winston-Salem in Wake Forest Innovation Quarter. The park features a covered stage, food truck courts and a large, grassy lawn area. Bailey Park also offers a variety of free community programs.   

Tanglewood Park

The county's largest recreational area is Tanglewood Park, with two 18-hole championship golf courses, tennis courts, and places for horseback riding, camping, boating and fishing.  

Salem Lake Park

Salem Lake Park offers a 365-acre lake with pier and boat fishing, and a 6.9-mile trail that offers a scenic view of the lake at all times.

Reynolda Gardens

The 129 acres that comprise Reynolda Gardens were once at the center of Reynolda, the early twentieth century estate of R. J. Reynolds. The gardens and grounds are open free of charge during daylight hours year-round.  

SciWorks

SciWorks is an interactive, hands-on science center and museum for all ages. The facility includes 25,000 square feet of exhibits, a planetarium, an auditorium, picnic areas and nature trails.  

NC Zoo

Located just south of Asheboro, the North Carolina Zoo is seated on a 2,200-acre tract of land in the Uwharrie Mountains. Approximately 500 acres of this property have been developed into one of the largest "natural habitat" zoos in the United States.  

Downtown Winston-Salem

Downtown Winston-Salem is home to many events, including street festivals, farmers markets and music events.  

Winston-Salem Dash

Winston-Salem's minor league baseball is a Class A-Advanced affiliate of the Chicago White Sox. The team plays home games at BB&T Ballpark.

Golf

Golf Digest named the Piedmont Triad (encompassing Winston-Salem, Greensboro and High Point) America’s “Best Big City for Golf.” The area was noted for its mild climate and abundance of quality golf courses by well-known designers. The Piedmont Triad has 262 playable days a year.
