JOB SUMMARY: Plans and manages all activities of the Equipment Distribution department. Manages equipment availability, usage, and replacements across the medical center. Utilizes organizational technology to locate equipment and maximize utilization. Places special emphasis on the timely and accurate delivery of equipment, and strives to continuously improve the day-to-day operation of the department. Ensures proper cleaning procedures are followed. Reviews and ensures compliance with regulatory standards.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in business, engineering or other related field and 4 years' experience in logistics management; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Ensures the timely and accurate delivery of equipment to departments. Ensures par levels are filled and equipment is appropriately maintained.
  2. Assumes responsibility for planning, developing, implementing and managing the budgetary process for area of responsibility. Able to understand and explain any budget variances.
  3. Creates policies and procedures for all related logistics activities and manages staff to approved policies. Trains department personnel on policies.
  4. Utilizes strong and effective communication skills to both employees and upper management. Able to clearly communicate and present ideas to large audiences.
  5. Completes departmental analyses as requested by Director utilizing various analytical tools. Presents findings and recommendations in timely manner. Manages all departmental projects utilizing various project management tools.
  6. Understands and fully maximizes use of RFID tracking system. Drives department toward increased utilization and functionality.
  7. Develops and maintains strong customer service relationships. Ensures issues are quickly and appropriately resolved and makes internal process changes when necessary. Develops relationships with external vendors.
  8. Maintains metrics, reports, process documentation, customer service logs, and training and safety records.
  9. Protects self, co-workers and facility by following approved policies and procedure to ensure employee and patient safety and a safe work environment.
  10. Provides feedback and recommendations regarding additional equipment purchases and capital requests.
