OR experience required; CPR certification required.
Selected candidates will be employed by Davie County Emergency Health Corporation at the West Campus
Job Summary: The surgical technologist renders care to assigned patients under the direction of the registered nurse. Duties include: assisting with direct patient care activities; preparing and stocking the OR before and after surgery; gathering clean and sterile supplies; setting up sterile instrument fields; and maintaining and monitoring aseptic techniques.
Education / Experience: Graduation from a surgical technology program or form an accredited school of nursing BCLS or equivalent required (i.e. military medic training).
Reports To: OR Managers/Clinical Coordinators
Licensure, Certification and / or Registration: Certification preferred, but not required.
Adheres to the general hospital standards to promote a cooperative work environment by utilizing communication skills, interpersonal relationships and team building.
Contributes to the nursing process through care and management of the patient under the direct supervision of the RN.
Ensures complete, accurate and timely care, cleanliness and management of instruments, equipment and supplies.
Communications to the team, co-workers, patients and family members in an effective, positive and professional manner.
Takes personal responsibility and initiative for performance and for professional growth and development.
Demonstrates ability to meet or exceed customer expectations.
Demonstrates cost containment.
Skills and Qualifications:
Good interpersonal and communication skills (verbal, non-verbal and listening skills).
Ability to provide direct and indirect patient care.
Basic computer skills preferred.
