Job Summary: This position is responsible for leading and consulting on transformational Performance Improvement initiatives and projects that accelerate the achievement of results in priority areas for Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. This position provides analysis, consultation, gap assessment, team facilitation and solutions as well as accelerates dissemination of successful practices and provides recommendations for organizational alignment. Deliverables result in practical, significant, and measurable improvements in quality, service, and efficiency across the Medical Center.
Education / Experience: Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts Degree or equivalent in business or technical discipline; Master's in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Nursing or related field of study strongly preferred; Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt Certification preferred; Lean training /experience preferred
A minimum of three years of professional experience in Performance Improvement or related field
Reports To: Director, Performance Improvement
Licensure, Certification and / or Registration: n/a
1. Adhere to the general hospital standards to promote a cooperative work environment by utilizing communication skills, interpersonal relationships and team building.
2. Lead high-priority Performance Improvement projects to support Service and Clinical Excellence as well as the Medical Center Strategic Plan.
3. Effectively facilitate team meetings to achieve results.
4. Promote teamwork and overall Performance Improvement reputation.
5. Assist other departments in use of reporting tools such as dashboard and external benchmarking data.

Verbal and written communication skills and presentation skills to effectively persuade and influence in order to achieve desired outcomes
Strong interpersonal skills to effectively build relationships with business partners across departments and facilitate work among teams
Skills in facilitating meetings
Ability to effectively lead and motivate teams
Ability to manage projects to deliver results within timeframes
Ability in applying leading edge tools and methodologies to solve complex problems that have broad impact on multiple functions
Strong financial acumen to support data analysis and benchmarking activities
