FUNCTION OF JOB

Under direct supervision, design and implement small research information systems. Exhibit desire and ability to learn to use a variety of research computer software tools and operating system environments.

Improve and maintain Northwest AHEC Educational Systems including:

  • Video Conferencing Equipment
  • Lecture recording equipment
  • Web and mobile applications for continuing education
  • Conference system technology supporting continuing education classes
  • Data collection and reporting systems
  • Marketing and evaluation systems

Ideal candidate will be self-directed, innovative and inspired to create efficient and effective information systems.

CHARACTERISTIC WORK

  1. Perform programming for all phases of database design, development, management and reporting for small projects.
  2. Contribute programming segments to larger projects under supervision of higher level analyst/programmer.
  3. Consult with users on project design needs for small projects. Maintain a professional relationship with project personnel.
  4. Maintain software and troubleshoot simple software products.
  5. Provide audio visual support and troubleshooting for distance education program.
  6. Design and build reporting applications for existing datasets.
  7. Perform simple data transfers and conversions.
  8. Create and maintain user manuals and documentation of software products for small projects.
  9. Train users and manage bug reporting for existing applications.
  10. Provide excellent customer service.
  11. Perform marketing and communication tasks using mail merge and email blast software.
  12. Perform other related duties incidental to work described herein.
  13. SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND GIVEN

    Oral and/or written instructions are received from supervision. Provide direction and guidance to support personnel.

    MINIMUM ACCEPTABLE QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree with computer courses, or equivalent education and experience in computer programming.

ADDITIONAL DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science.
  2. Experience in continuing education or research is preferred.
  3. Experience with MS SQL Server.
  4. Experience with Adobe Coldfusion.
  5. Experience with Javascript and frameworks.
  6. Experience beyond the minimum required.
