Position Description: Wake Forest Baptist Health is seeking qualified applicants to join our infusion clinic pharmacy team. The primary responsibilities of this position include clinical review of medication orders, chemotherapy checking, providing drug information support to the clinic and infusion areas, and assisting with optimization and build of the electronic medical record. The pharmacists will also serve as a drug information and clinical resource for 6 outreach infusion clinics. The infusion pharmacists work closely with technical staff, nurses, mid-level providers, and physicians to meet the operational, clinical, and research needs of the infusion clinic and the comprehensive cancer center. There are opportunities for resident and student precepting as well as cross training to help cover inpatient services.
Required Credentials: Licensed or eligible for licensure in North Carolina; PGY-2 in hematology/oncology, BCOP, or equivalent experience required.
Institution description: WFBH is a fully integrated health system that includes an 885 bed academic medical center located in central North Carolina. The NCI designated Wake Forest Baptist Comprehensive Cancer Center includes a newly constructed cancer hospital with six outreach infusion clinics. The WFBH is one of only a few health systems in the United States that utilizes the Apoteca chemotherapy compounding robot. WFBH documents patient care activities in the Epic electronic medical record across both inpatient and clinic settings. The Department of Pharmacy has over 300 employees with over 100 pharmacists and 12 pharmacy residents.
