Surgical Vacular Technologist - PRN - part-time hours, limited benefits
Job Summary: Assists in the performance of endovascular surgical procedures by utilizing equipment and employing techniques and procedures which are age appropriate, in accordance with the accepted standards of practice and demonstrating expertise in limiting radiation exposure to patients and other members of the health care team.
Education / Experience:Graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology Completion of Special Procedures Training Program or minimum one year experience as a technologist in Special Procedures. Completion of 1 week sterile technique training program to be provided by the OR education coordinator.
Reports To: Lead Surgical Vascular Technician
Licensure, Certification and / or Registration: Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT)
Registered Cardiovascular-Interventional Technologist (ARRT-CV) preferred, CPR certification required, ACLS certification preferred
Ensures readiness of emergency equipment and supplies and recognizes and reacts appropriately to potential emergency situations. Provides technologist coverage for 24 hour emergency endovascular surgical services.
Performs or assists in performing procedures and/or diagnostic tests and/or therapeutic exams, as well as maintains files and compiles records according to procedure as required for accurate and current departmental records and/or reports.
Provides instruction, education and consultation to health care personnel and patients to promote and improve quality patient care and maintains appropriate education/credentials to accomplish work objectives.
Performs routine analysis on imaging equipment to assure proper working conditions and a minimum of downtime.
