Job Summary: The Trauma/Burn Outreach coordinator is responsible for: 1) Coordinating education concerning Trauma Systems, the Burn Center, and burn and trauma care to agencies in the Medical Center's referral area. 2) Coordinating Injury Prevention and Burn Prevention programs to the public. 3) Assuring the documentation of outreach activities as required by agencies designating the Trauma/Burn Centers.

Education / Experience: BSN required, MSN preferred, BCLS required, Minimum of 2 years experience in a Level I Trauma/Burn Center, Demonstrated leadership skills

Reports To: Trauma/Burn Program Manager

Licensure, Certification and / or Registration:

Essential Functions:

1.

Coordinates regional Burn Center outreach activities

2.

Collaborates with the Trauma Medical Director and Trauma Service Line Coordinator to facilitate the development of the regional trauma system

3.

Injury/burn prevention and public education program development

4.

Assist in coordinating and facilitating trauma/burn continuing education programs for the community physicians, nurses, prehospital personnel, allied health professionals and RAC members within the defined region

Skills and Qualifications:

Proficiency in oral and written communication

TNCC Instructor

Ability to collaborate effectively as a team leader in a dynamic and academic healthcare environment

Flexibility to respond quickly to change

Ability to prioritize work activities to achieve goals in a timely manner.

Problem solving, teamwork, consensus building and negotiation skills
