Directions

The Hawthorne Inn & Conference Center is located off Business 40 near the heart of downtown Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The Hawthorne is less than a 30 minute drive from Piedmont Triad International Airport (GSO) and 10 minutes from Winston-Salem's Smith Reynolds Airport (INT).

Heading East from Asheville/Statesville/Hickory/Charlotte

1. Head East on I-40, then continue East on Business 40 into downtown Winston-Salem.
2. Take the Cherry St. exit (5-C) onto High St. The front entrance of the hotel is immediately on your right.

Heading West from Raleigh/Greensboro/High Point/Virginia

1. Take I-40 West, then take Business 40 split (exit 206) into downtown Winston-Salem.
2. Take the Cherry St. exit (5-C).  Turn right at the top of the exit ramp onto Cherry Street.
3. Take your immediate left at the first traffic light onto First St.
4. Turn left at the next traffic light onto Marshall St.
5. Cross over Business 40 and through the next traffic light.
6. As you head downhill, the hotel’s rear parking entrance will be on your right. Turn into the parking lot and drive around the building to the hotel’s front entrance.

Heading South from West Virginia/Pilot Mountain

1. Head South on Highway 52 to downtown Winston-Salem and take the exit for 3rd, 4th and 5th Street (109B).
2. Turn right at the top of the ramp onto 5th St. Stay on 5th St. through downtown and turn left onto Marshall St. Your landmark for this turn is the Benton Convention Center on your right.
3. Take Marshall St. until it crosses over business 40 and go through the next traffic light.
4. As you head downhill, the hotel’s rear parking entrance will be on your right. Turn into the parking lot and drive around the building to the hotel’s front entrance.

Heading North from Charlotte/South Carolina/Georgia

1. From I-85 North take the Highway 52 North exit.
2. Then take the exit for Business 40 West (109B).
3. Take the Cherry St. exit (5-C) onto Cherry St.
4. Turn left at the first traffic light onto First St.
5. Turn left at the next traffic light onto Marshall St.
6. Cross over Business 40 and through the next traffic light.
7. As you head downhill, the hotel’s rear parking entrance will be on your right. Turn into the parking lot and drive around the building to the hotel’s front entrance.
