Annual Heart Health Screening Day

Where: Jerry Long YMCA in Clemmons
When: Saturday, February 22
Times: 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Free to the public. You do not have to be a member of the YMCA to participate.
Screenings include: a Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD), blood pressure, blood glucose and cholesterol.

Peripheral Artery Disease is caused when the arteries that lead to the heart become clogged and block blood flow to the heart. Our professionals can place pressure cuffs around your ankles and upper arms to determine your risk. (See below for more information.)

(You must have not participated in a screening in the last 12 months to be eligible for this event.)  

Members of the Wake Forest University Football team will be available to sign autographs/have photos made with community members. No appointment required. 

Candidates for the PAD screening include individuals who meet the following criteria:

  • with a family history of heart disease
  • smokers
  • overweight
  • high cholesterol
