The Latest in Electrophysiology Treatments
Our electrophysiologists’ work and research are well known in the areas of atrial fibrillation, catheter and surgical ablations, medical therapies and other treatments for rhythm disorders.
Our patients have access to a wide variety of state-of-the-art therapies, including catheter and surgical ablation for atrial fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, and other complex arrhythmias.
We were one of the first medical centers in the country to implant the new wireless pacemakers that transmit more information about patients’ hearts with greater frequency. Wake Forest Baptist is one of the only facilities in the region to perform laser lead extractions for pacemakers and ICDs in high-risk patient populations.
The Pediatric Arrhythmia Clinic provides diagnosis and management of children with complex heart rhythm disturbances, such as the relatively common supraventricular tachycardia, through the most complex cases, such as arrhythmias after surgery. The Pacemaker Clinic is one of the few exclusively pediatric clinics for follow-up of children with implanted pacemakers.
