There are many types of heart doctors. All help prevent,
diagnose, treat and manage various heart and blood vessel diseases and disorders.
Each heart doctor is trained in one or more subspecialties.
Our vascular surgeons perform the most advanced medical,
surgical, and catheter-based procedures (endovascular) available in the U.S. to
treat diseases and disorders that affect blood flow in the arteries and veins
of the circulatory system or cardiovascular system, except the heart and brain.
Vascular surgeons help prevent strokes, repair abdominal
aortic aneurysms (weakened, bulging area in the wall of an artery), improve
poor circulation in the legs, arms, neck and kidneys, and handle vascular
trauma, and varicose veins.
