Endovascular Surgery at the Heart & Vascular Center 

At Wake Forest, we are constantly striving to provide the safest, most effective forms of treatment. This is different for each patient. Your care at the Heart & Vascular Center starts with a comprehensive evaluation, which may include testing in our dedicated Clinical Vascular Lab. From here, our experts develop a personalized treatment just for you. This plan may include surgery.

After your procedure, the endovascular surgery team meets every day to answer your questions and make sure your recovery is on track. Nurses and nurse practitioners with expertise in vascular disease take care of your day-to-day needs. If at any point you need additional care, members of our team (including our surgeons) are available at any time of day or night. 

Hybrid Cath Lab for Vascular Disease 

Wake Forest is the first medical center in the Piedmont region offering a hybrid catheterization-surgery lab dedicated to vascular disease treatments. We combine sophisticated imaging technology with surgical suite capabilities to offer advanced therapies for your condition. 

Our hybrid lab is the culmination of 20 years of advancements in surgical techniques and technologies: 

  • Patients with complex conditions receive multiple treatments during a single operation. 
  • Experts including vascular surgeons and interventional cardiologists work collaboratively during your vascular surgery procedure. 
  • Surgeons can convert to open surgery in an emergency.
