Blood Product Replacement
If you are suffering from hemophilia, blood product replacement is one treatment that can help. It replaces the clotting factor missing from your blood through infusions into your blood stream or injections through your vein.
There are 2 types of replacement therapy:
Preventive therapy – You receive blood product replacement on a regular basis to prevent clotting problems.
Demand therapy – You only receive blood product replacement when you are bleeding to help it clot and stop.
Blood clotting factor comes from human blood. We carefully screen all blood to make sure it is completely safe and free of any viruses.
