The McKenzie Family
We expected to get pregnant immediately, being young and healthy it never even occurred to us that we wouldn't! After a year of unsuccessful trying, our OB/GYN wanted to refer us to a specialist. She referred us to Dr. Yalcinkaya because, she stated, “he’s the best.”
Our first visit with him and with our nurse, Lori, made us feel so confident that they would help us start our family. But to be honest, as much as we liked them, we hoped we’d barely even need to get to know the staff as we would only need treatment briefly. This did not turn out to be the case though; it wasn't until 11 months later that we were pregnant after a third IVF attempt.
Infertility was one of the hardest thing either of us had ever dealt with, it was such an emotional and physical roller coaster and we couldn't imagine having a better team working for us than Dr. Yalcinkaya, Lori, Dr. Carillo and the whole staff at their office. It was easy to place our dreams in the hands of Dr. Yalcinkaya. He was compassionate and caring and always made us feel as though starting our family was as important to him as it was to us. We appreciated his honesty. We had so many questions and he would answer each one truthfully even if it was not what we wanted to hear.
Even as we were finding it harder and harder to imagine we would ever get pregnant, the whole staff there remained positive and always had a next option. We knew they had not given up hope even if we weren't so confident. Working with Lori was like having a friend who helped guide us through each scary step. Both Dr. Yalcinkaya and Lori would explain every option and we never felt pressured to make a decision until we were ready. When we finally got the call from Lori confirming our pregnancy, we couldn't tell who was happier! We were actually sad to be transferred back to our OB after all we'd been through together.
To say our daughter Kate is the most incredible dream come true is an understatement; we know that she was the baby meant for us. We will never be able to adequately show our gratitude to Dr. Yalcinkaya and his staff but to be able to share our story and give others the confidence to believe in Dr. Yalcinkaya and the whole clinic is a start!
