The Board Certified Reproductive Endocrinologists at the Wake Forest Baptist Health Center for Reproductive Medicine have undergone years of advanced training to insure that each couple receives the highest quality of care available. As a major teaching university, we stay abreast of the latest developments in infertility treatment and are involved in “cutting edge” research.
Our Advanced Reproductive Technology staff is expertly qualified in all facets of in vitro fertilization and related procedures. Our Ph.D. embryologist is noted for his outstanding work in areas such as preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD) and intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI).
Infertility is accompanied by physical, emotional, and financial stress and we strive to meet each couples individual needs in a highly personalized setting. Infertility is more than a “disease” as it affects the very basic human desire to create a family.
Unfortunately, many times when patients finally decide to seek infertility specialist care they have already undergone months of unsuccessful treatment. Sometimes, the most basic and important tests, such as the semen analysis or the female hormone evaluation, have not been done. This results in wasted time, resources, and emotional strain.
We thoroughly evaluate each couple and conduct all tests necessary to rule out the multiple potential causes of infertility in both the male and female. Once the cause(s) has been identified, we work with each couple to determine the therapy(s) most likely to result in pregnancy in the most cost effective manner. The most appropriate treatment is not always the most advanced technology. In fact, most patients become pregnant utilizing “first level” treatments such as intrauterine insemination.
Our physicians, nurses, and support staff have extensive experience dealing with the numerous facets of infertility treatment. We know how important it is for each couple to receive in depth counseling in a setting that promotes discussion and understanding.
Sometimes patients, who underwent treatment at other clinics, tell us that they were disappointed because they had minimal contact with their primary physician or that their treatment was “too regimented”. We believe that each couple deserves constant interaction with the entire treatment team during all phases of their treatment. In fact, our couple’s are considered an integral part of the treatment team.
We care for a substantial number of infertile couples, which is necessary to insure the highest quality standards. We devote the resources necessary to insure that each patient has access to the personnel needed for superior care.
