Inpatient Rehabilitation

Located on the campus of Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, the J. Paul Sticht Center on Aging and Rehabilitation offers comprehensive acute inpatient rehabilitation programs that focus on reducing activity limitations and maximizing the quality of life for individuals 13 years of age and older who have experienced life altering injury and disease.

  • Acquired Brain Injury Program: a special 12-bed CARF-accredited program that provides specialized care for persons with traumatic and non-traumatic brain injury in a supportive, closely supervised environment.
  • Comprehensive Inpatient Rehabilitation Program: a 27-bed CARF-accredited program that provides intense therapy for a variety of patients, 13 years of age and older, recovering from neurological and musculoskeletal disorders including stroke, spinal cord injury, multiple traumas, amputation, major joint replacement and other conditions.
  • Stroke Rehabilitation Program: a CARF accredited stroke specialty program that provides intensive rehabilitation services focusing on prevention, minimizing impairment, reducing activity limitations, and maximizing the participation and quality of life of individuals who have suffered a stroke.

Our Facilities

The third floor of this attractive 40,000, sq. ft. facility houses private and semi-private rooms with fully accesable showers. An indoor heated therapy pool, a horticulture room and a transitional living apartment where patients can practice independent living are also available.

Referrals

Comprehensive inpatient rehabilitation, acquired brain injury, and stroke rehabilitation referrals are accepted based on specific patient qualifications. For additional information on referring a patient to our acute inpatient rehabilitation programs, please call 336-713-8500 or 888-605-9568.
