Terry Williams, MBA, Executive Vice President of Strategy and Network Development

Terry G. Williams joined Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center as executive vice president of strategy and network development in December 2013. 

In this position, Williams formulates and executes overall business strategy, fosters strategic alliances, promotes growth and process-improvement initiatives and guides community relations and communications to increase the Medical Center’s reach in key markets. He is responsible for overall strategy and leadership regarding affiliations, business intelligence, partnerships, clinical integration development, joint ventures and management agreements.

Williams’ duties include oversight of strategic planning; communications, marketing and media; information technology; and clinical business development. 

Prior to joining Wake Forest Baptist, Williams was chief strategy and growth officer at a 12 hospital/100+ location health system in the Midwest with a clinically integrated network.  

Before that, he served as executive vice president of organizational transformation at a 6 hospital system and was partner at a national healthcare consulting firm for seven years. Earlier in his career, he was vice president at a public company, Eclipsys Corp., a provider of practice management and electronic health record technology that is now part of Allscripts Healthcare Solutions Inc. He has worked at over 200 health systems in his career. 

Williams holds a bachelor’s degree from Northeastern State University, a graduate diploma in economics from the University of East Anglia in England and an M.B.A. from Emory University.
