Astronaut Alumnus donates to the Archives

Thomas H. Marshburn, M.D., graduated from Wake Forest School of Medicine in 1989. His specialty is emergency medicine. After working in Texas and Massachusetts as an emergency room physician, Dr. Marshburn joined National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) in 1994 as a flight surgeon. His first space mission was in July 2009.

Dr. Marshburn donated a couple of photographs and the Certificate of Authenticity to the Dorothy Carpenter Medical Archives. The certificate states: that the cap was flown for the Wake Forest School of Medicine aboard the United States Space Shuttle Endeavour, which was launched at 5:03 p.m. EDT, July 15, 2009, from Pad 39A at the Kennedy Space Center, Florida.
