ENPC

The Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course is designed to provide core-level pediatric knowledge and psychomotor skills needed to care for pediatric patients in the emergency setting. The course presents a systematic assessment model, integrates the associated anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology and identifies appropriate interventions. Triage categorization and injury prevention strategies are also included in the course content. In this course, participants will enhance their skills in the treatment of pediatric emergencies through lectures and active participation in a series of psychomotor skills stations designed to reinforce important concepts. 

Prerequisites for all ENPC Classes

  1. Participants must be registered nurses (RNs) to officially attend ENPC. 
  2. Participants should have at least 6 months clinical nursing experience managing pediatric patients.
  3. Participants should have a basic understanding of emergency care terminology and be familiar with standard emergency equipment.
  4. Participants must have a current ENPC Provider Manual (4th Edition). These books may be purchased in Life Support Education.   

Course Completion 

Successful completion requires the learner to score a minimum of 80% on the written evaluation as well as demonstrate all critical criteria and at least 70%of all steps in the evaluated psychomotor skill station. Participants may repeat the written exam or a skill station if needed.

ENPC Provider Course

Continuing Nursing Education Contact Hours 

Contact hours are awarded by the Emergency Nurses Association. The hours awarded are based on hours attended, regardless of performance during evaluation. This class typically provides up to 15.33 contact hours.

Fees: WFBMC RNs: No Charge. 

*ALL WFBMC RNs must obtain current ENPC Provider Manual (may be purchased in Life Support Education $60). 

Other RNs: $160 (includes ENPC Provider Manual)
