TNCC
The Trauma Nursing Core Course is designed to present core level knowledge and psychomotor skills for the initial assessment and management of patients with traumatic injury. In this course, participants will enhance their skills in the treatment of traumatic emergencies through lectures and active participation in a series of psychomotor skills stations designed to reinforce important concepts.
Prerequisites for all TNCC Classes
- Participants must be registered nurses (RNs) to officially attend TNCC.
- Participants should have at least 6 months clinical nursing experience managing trauma patients.
- Participants should have a basic understanding of trauma care terminology and be familiar with standard emergency trauma equipment.
- Participants must have a current TNCC Provider Manual (6th Edition). These books may be purchased in Life Support Education.
Course Completion
Successful completion requires the learner to score a minimum of 80% on the written evaluation as well as demonstrate all critical criteria and at least 70%of all steps in the Trauma Nursing Process Psychomotor Evaluation Station.

TNCC Provider Course
Continuing Nursing Education Contact Hours
Contact hours are awarded by the Emergency Nurses Association. The hours awarded are based on hours attended, regardless of performance during evaluation. This class typically provides up to 14.42 contact hours.
Fees: WFBMC RNs: No Charge
*All WFBMC RNs must obtain current TNCC Provider Manual (may be purchased in Life Support Education $50).
Other RNs: $160 (includes TNCC Provider Manual)
Class Time: 8am - 5pm both days
