This 1-year ACGME-approved fellowship provides a broad exposure to a variety of neurophysiologic techniques including:

  • Electroencephalography (EEG)
  • Evoked potentials (EP)
  • Polysomnography
  • Electromyography (didactic).

The EEG/epilepsy pathway offers in-depth exposure to neonatal, pediatric, and adult EEG, routine and intraoperative EP, intensive video-EEG monitoring including intracranial depth and grid recording, electrocorticography, and ambulatory EEG.

The medical and surgical management of epilepsy is emphasized. Advanced neuroimaging including PET, SPECT and functional MRI are available for seizure focus localization and functional mapping. Limited exposure to sleep medicine is available.

The training will lead to eligibility for the American Board of Clinical Neurophysiology and the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology with certification in Clinical Neurophysiology.
