Spasticity
Neurologists work with physical and occupational therapists to evaluate and treat patients suffering from spasticity. Spasticity occurs when muscles continuously contract. Spasticity can be very painful and interfere with a person's daily living.
Our doctors work with therapists to establish the best course of treatment. Possible outcomes from treatment may be improved walking, better arm movement, decreased pain and increased ease of daily activities. Patients are evaluated and a plan is established that may include splinting, a home exercise program or ongoing therapy services.
