The Comprehensive Epilepsy Center Clinic practitioners are experts in the diagnosis and treatment of epilepsy for both adults and children.

Our team of epilepsy specialists includes adult epileptologists, pediatric epileptologists, neurosurgeons, adult and pediatric epilepsy nurse practitioners, an epilepsy pharmacist, a registered dietician, an epilepsy nurse clinician, and a dedicated epilepsy social worker. Meet our epilepsy team.

For Adults with Epilepsy

Our epileptologists specializing in adult care are trained in neurology and epilepsy, as well as interpretation of EEG and epilepsy monitoring. In addition to diagnosis and care of isolated and new onset seizures, we specialize in challenging epilepsy situations.

We also provide care for patients with epilepsy complicated by other neurological conditions, such as stroke, brain injury, and brain tumors. As part of total patient care, we offer up-to-date epilepsy education and information regarding driving, employment, and safety.

Patients who have failed multiple seizure medications are reevaluated and offered the newest therapies available, including:

Investigational seizure medications and devices
Epilepsy surgery
Dietary modification (see the ketogenic diet)

Specialized Epilepsy Care for Women

We offer advanced care for women with epilepsy, including birth control, prenatal counseling, pregnancy, and menopause-related issues.

Epilepsy Clinic Location

The Wake Forest Comprehensive Epilepsy Center Clinic for adults is located on the 4th Floor of the Janeway Clinical Sciences Tower. We have 18 examining rooms, a two-bed treatment room, and on-site laboratory facilities for clinical and research purposes. The Clinic is located next to the Neurosurgery Clinic, with whom we collaborate for Vagal Nerve Stimulator and epilepsy surgeries.
