Myasthenia Gravis Online Resources

The following websites offer information about the neuromuscular disorder called myasthenia gravis (MG).

The National Institutes of Health website has a page concerning myasthenia gravis, an autoimmune disease, in which the body's own immune system mistakenly attacks healthy tissue.  

The Mysasthenia Gravis Foundation of America is a national volunteer health agency dedicated to the fight against MG. Its website offers information about MG for patients and health professionals, as well as community support resources.  

The Carolinas chapter of the Myasthenia Gravis Foundation lists support groups in North and South Carolina with contact information, news and an events calendar. 

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Office on Women's Health also offers a website with information for patients and health professionals regarding MG, which is occurs more commonly among women younger than 40 and men older than 60.
