We have also conducted clinical trials testing new treatment methods for post-stroke conditions and we consider that a critical area of research. Transitioning patients back to their normal routines and lives is an important part of stroke treatment.
Botox® Clinical Trials for Stroke
For example, neurologists at Wake Forest Baptist Health spearheaded the largest clinical trials to date showing Botox to be an effective treatment for spasticity, in particular for the wrist and fingers. These studies contributed to the FDA’s recent approval of Botox to treat upper limb spasticity following a stroke.
