Ward A. Riley Ultrasound Center
The Ward A. Riley Ultrasound Center (WARUC) provides Carotid Intima-Media Thickness (CIMT) Ultrasound Screening. The CIMT is an ultrasound test to precisely measure the walls of the carotid artery in the neck and provides a benchmark of heart and vascular risk. A baseline CIMT is recommended in year one, with a follow-up screening in three years.
The WARUC has over 20 years experience as an Ultrasound Reading Center for multi-center clinical trials. In addition to reading and scanning, the Center provides CIMT and Brachial Artery research training for sonographers and readers, as well as a quality control/quality assurance program through recertification and site visits.
