Center for Dermatology Research Receives $1 million Grant from Galderma Laboratories
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Center for Dermatology Research at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center has received a $1 million grant from Galderma Laboratories, L.P.
The three-year grant will be used to fund ongoing research projects. It is the second such grant that the center has received from the pharmaceutical company.
“The Center for Dermatology Research was created to address issues that are critical to the practice of dermatology and patients’ skin disease, including economic, policy and ethical issues and patient care,” said Steven R. Feldman, M.D., Ph.D., director of the center.
“Galderma Laboratories’ continued support of the center and our mission shows their particular foresight and commitment to supporting and enhancing patient care and promoting public interest in dermatology,” he said.
The center was established in 1998 to ensure optimal patient care and to advance dermatology as a specialty. It has published more than 60 research studies in peer-reviewed journals and presented more than 75 posters and oral presentations at regional, national and international meetings and conferences.
Galderma Laboratories is an international pharmaceutical company devoted to the development and marketing of pharmaceutical and over-the-counter dermatology products.
