WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – “Sunny Saturday,” a program for women who are cancer survivors, their family and friends, will be held Saturday Sept. 10, from 10:30 a.m. until 12 p.m., at the BestHealth resource center at Hanes Mall. The program is free and open to the public. Registration is required by calling 716-2255 or register online at www.besthealth.com. This fun-filled seminar will offer participants one-stop shopping to resources available to cancer survivors.

Nancy Mehaffey, operations manager of the Appearance Boutique at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center’s Comprehensive Cancer Center will demonstrate special clothing, hats and scarves. Ann Douglas, cosmetologist with the American Cancer Society’s Look Good Feel Better program, will give make-up tips. Wendy Watson, nutritionist with the Comprehensive Cancer Center, will discuss healthy teas and provide samples of healthy smoothies and snacks.

“Going through cancer treatment is a stressful time for anyone. Doing things that help you feel better and look better are good prescriptions for a cheerful, optimistic outlook,” says Mehaffey.
