N.C. Baptist Hospital Honors Its Volunteers

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – In conjunction with National Volunteer Week, North Carolina Baptist Hospital honored 95 of its volunteers at a luncheon, April 28, held at The Hawthorne Inn and Conference Center. The hospital has more than 800 volunteers who contribute more than 140,000 hours of service a year.

Hospital volunteers serve in a variety of positions, from assisting guests at the information desks to visiting with the children in Brenner Children's Hospital.

Honorees with the highest levels of service are Don Moss 38,000 hours; Betty Penn, 25,000 hours; Sankie Fritchman, 22,000 hours; Louise Joyce 20,000 hours; Dutch Fritchman, 18,000 hours; Wilma Smiley, 13,000 hours; Alice Beeson, 12,000 hours; Beth Lynch, 11,000 hours and Ada Williard, 7,000 hours. Volunteers with 6,000 hours of service are Jane Brown, Jane Dwiggins and Roger Jordan. Lee Smith contributed 5,000 hours of service.
