New Race to Support Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Heart Center at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center has created a new event to raise money for the Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program at Wake Forest Baptist.

“Heart and Sole,” a five-kilometer run and one-mile walk will be held April 22, at 4th of July Park, 702 W. Mountain St., Kernersville. The certified 5K course is a scenic run through the heart of Kernersville. An awards ceremony will take place immediately following the race at shelter No.1 in the park.

Entrants are encouraged to register early to receive the official race T-shirt. Registration ends April 17. For information, visit the official Web site at <www1.wfubmc.edu/heart/heartandsole>.

The Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program is located at the J. Paul Sticht Center on Aging and Rehabilitation at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. The Wake Forest University Cardiac Rehabilitation Program was the first such program in North Carolina and one of the first of its kind in the nation.
