Convenient Site Selected on Rt. 601 in Mocksville
WINSTON-SALEM, NC – North Carolina Baptist Hospital/ Davie County Hospital has selected a site for the urgent and primary care center in Mocksville.
The site is the southwest corner of the intersection of Route 601 and Country Lane. “This property will be easily accessible for patients and employees of businesses in the Mocksville area,” said Donny Lambeth, Interim President of Baptist Hospital. There is a traffic signal at the intersection.
The urgent and primary care center will have space for urgent care services, an occupational medicine program and physician offices. The building will contain a lab, diagnostic imaging equipment, in addition to exam rooms and offices for physicians.
“We will develop the primary care center, regardless of whether Baptist/Davie County Hospital’s application to build a replacement facility for Davie County Hospital
is approved,” Lambeth said. “We are committed to meeting the primary care needs of the Mocksville area.”
Architect for the building is Wilkerson Associates of Charlotte. Founded in l977, Wilkerson specializes in planning and design of healthcare facilities. “The firm participated in the recent planning forums in Davie County to learn about the needs of the community for the facility,” added Lambeth.
Wilkerson is recognized for its experience with a broad range of healthcare projects, each designed to meet the unique needs of clients that “provide creative, functional solutions that are aesthetically pleasing to respect the character of the community.”
In August, Baptist/Davie County Hospital announced plans to invest $125 million in building the primary care center and the replacement hospital. The State must approve the application to build the hospital but not the primary care center.
The State will hold a public hearing on the hospital application this Friday at Cornerstone Christian Church. The public comment period begins at 1:30 p.m.
Community support is one of the significant factors that the State considers in approving an application for a hospital.
