Second Annual Race to Support Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program at WFUBMC
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Heart Center at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center will host the second annual “Heart and Sole” five-kilometer run and one-mile walk Saturday April 21 at 4th of July Park, 702 W. Mountain St., Kernersville.
The event raises money for the Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program at Wake Forest Baptist.
“Heart and Sole is a scenic run through the center of Kernersville, said Heart Center community outreach coordinator Stephanie Starling-Edwards, R.N. “We’ll get started bright and early at 7:30 a.m. handing out packets to the runners.”
The race starts at 9 a.m. Though online registration closes Monday, April 16, participants can register on the day of the event. An awards ceremony will take place immediately following the race at shelter No.1 in the park.
The Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program is located at the J. Paul Sticht Center on Aging and Rehabilitation at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. The Wake Forest University Cardiac Rehabilitation Program was the first such program in North Carolina and one of the first of its kind in the nation.
