Teen Speak Out
6 p.m.
Free support group for ages 13-17. Bring a friend and join others to learn more about the successes and challenges of dealing with depression, anxiety, loneliness, ADD, ADHD, or other concerns. Led by a licensed mental health professional and sponsored by the Mental Health Association in Forsyth County. For more information call 768-3880. The class will be held again Nov. 16 and 30 at 6 p.m..

Coping with the Holidays
1:30 to 3 p.m.
If you’re an adult coping with the death of a loved one, come join counselors from Hospice & Palliative Care’s Grief Counseling Center for a time to share. Learn ways to add meaning to a difficult holiday season.

Free Depression & Anxiety Screening
4 to 8 p.m.
This free, confidential and professional screening can help determine if you suffer from either anxiety and/or depression. Provided by the Mental Health Association in Forsyth County.  Appointment recommended by calling 713-BEST (2378), but walk-ins are welcome.

AARP Safe Driving Course
11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Adults age 50 or more can learn ways to improve driving skills in this four-hour workshop led by Donna Joyner, Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center nurse and Trauma/Burn Outreach Coordinator.  The cost is $12 per person.

Assistive Technology: Useful Tools
2 to 3:30 p.m.
Paul Eklund, assistive technology consultant with Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center’s Assistive Technology Center, discusses useful technology and tools to make everyday living easier and promote independence. See a demonstration of devices that assist with activities of daily living, access to the computer and recreation.

Belly Dancing
6 p.m.
Instructor Paula Stump provides information on toning and firming muscles as well as diagrams of steps. Dress comfortably to participate.

Thursday, Nov. 12
Smoking Cessation Overview
6 p.m.
Would you like to give up smoking for good? Join Chandra Parker, certified smoking cessation facilitator with Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, for an overview of an upcoming six-week “Freedom from Smoking” program to be offered at BestHealth. This overview will help you determine your readiness to quit and whether the upcoming course will be right for you.

Join other patients and their families to increase learning and strengthen the network of resources across Forsyth County. Speech and language pathologist Shannon Kem, MS, CCC-SLP, discusses the Lee Silverman Speech Therapy (LSVT) at this month’s meeting.

10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
In honor of the American Cancer Society’s Great American Smokeout®, stop by BestHealth on Thursday, Nov. 19, between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. to trade in your cigarettes or chewing tobacco products for a healthy treat to help you “lick” the addiction. No registration required.

The Basics of Massage Therapy
6 p.m.
Learn the benefits of massage therapy in this hands-on class led by Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center licensed massage therapist Jennifer Barker. Dress comfortably and bring a pillow and blanket to class. The cost is $5 per person.

Co-sponsored with the Hospice & Palliative CareCenter. Meets monthly.
