Wake Forest Baptist Recreational Therapist Receives High Honor

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Julie Bradwell, a licensed recreational therapist at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, has received the highest award granted by the North Carolina Recreational Therapy Association (NCRTA).

Bradwell, L.R.T., C.T.R.S., recently received the 2009 Ray E. West Distinguished Member award presented by NCRTA. The award recognizes leadership ability, as well as personal and professional commitment to consumers of recreational therapy, the profession and to NCRTA activities.

Bradwell, a 20-year veteran of the recreation therapy profession, was recognized for her work in the clinical preparation of 100 students and development of recreation therapy programs at the medical center. She was also recently recognized by the American Therapeutic Recreation Association as the Frank N. Brasile Clinician of the Year.
