President Named at Wake Forest Baptist Health – Davie Medical Center
BERMUDA RUN, N.C. – April 28, 2014 – Chad
J. Brown, M.B.A., M.H.A., has been named the first president of both the
Bermuda Run and Mocksville campuses of Wake Forest Baptist
Health – Davie Medical Center effective June 2.
A seasoned executive with nearly 20 years in the health care
industry, Brown was most recently chief executive officer of Duke LifePoint –
Person Memorial Hospital in Roxboro, NC.
“We are excited to have someone as talented as Chad at
the helm of Davie Medical Center,” said K. Barbara
(Bobbi) Carbone, M.D., M.B.A., executive vice president and chief operating
officer of Wake Forest Baptist Health. “The Bermuda Run campus
will expand to a full-service hospital when inpatient beds are added. Chad has
the expertise to lead Davie Medical Center into the future -- as it continues
to grow and expand services.”
Brown has extensive experience in both for-profit and
not-for-profit hospital operations. In addition to his role at Duke LifePoint,
he has held leadership positions at Hospital Corporation of America hospitals
in Tennessee, Florida and Virginia, and at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center
in Knoxville. He earned his M.B.A./M.H.A. at University of Houston – Clear Lake,
and his B.S. in Biology at the University of Tennessee. He is a fellow in the
American College of Healthcare Executives.
The Davie Medical Center – Bermuda Run campus opened in
October 2013. The 88-acre site includes Medical Plaza One, a four-story medical
office building housing physician offices representing multiple specialties,
cardiac and orthopaedic rehabilitation and an outpatient pharmacy. Medical
Plaza Two is comprised of an outpatient surgery center, 24/7 Emergency
Department and diagnostic imaging.
Approximately 40 acres of the site are designated for commercial
Davie Medical Center – Mocksville provides X-ray imaging,
inpatient care for ventilator patients, physical, respiratory and speech
therapy and lab testing.
Brown his wife, Jeannine, and their three children,
