N.C. – June 30, 2015 – The Comprehensive Stroke Center at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center has been recertified as a comprehensive center by The
Joint Commission (TJC) and the American
Heart Association/American Stroke Association (AHA/ASA). The certification recognizes hospitals that are prepared to receive and treat patients
with the most complex strokes.

N.C. – June 30, 2015 – The diagnostic neurology electromyography (EMG) laboratory at Wake Forest Baptist
Medical Center has received accreditation with exemplary status
from the American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine
(AANEM). It is the highest
level of accreditation given to laboratories by the AANEM.
Forest Baptist’s EMG lab uses ultrasound to evaluate musculoskeletal disorders
and is a world leader in the emerging field of neuromuscular ultrasound. To

hematology and oncology at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, has been chosen as
one of the 2015 Patient Advocate Award recipients by Cancer Services.

N.C. – June 30, 2015 – Sandra Jarrett, practice manager for Salisbury Orthopaedic Associates, an affiliate of Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, has been named the 2015 Administrator of the Year by the North Carolina Medical
Group Management Association (NCMGMA).
The award honors a
medical practice administrator who has demonstrated exceptional leadership and
management proficiency and helped enhance the effectiveness of health care
delivery in North Carolina. In 2014, Jarrett received the organization’s
President’s Award for her contribution to the
association, its members and medical practice management.
