Roy L. Alson, MD, PhD
Associate Professor, Emergency Medicine
of Pre-hospital and Disaster Medicine
Alson is an attending physician in Wake Forest Baptist's
level-one trauma center, as well as medical advisor to the North Carolina Association of Paramedics and former chairman of the
N.C. Medical Society's Section of Emergency Medicine. Additionally, he is the
medical editor of eMedicine Emergency Medicine.
Alson's research includes airway management during chemical
agent decontamination and ER resident training in weapons of mass destruction.
He won the Harvey Grant Award from International Trauma Life Support in
recognition of his contributions to pre-hospital rescue and trauma education.
