Stephen B. Kritchevsky, PhD

Kritchevsky is an epidemiologist specializing in nutrition, chronic disease and physical function in older adults. He is on the Executive Committee of the Health Aging and Body Composition Study and directs the Wake Forest Field Center of the Lifestyle Interventions and Independence for Elders Clinical Trial. He is the director of the National Institute on Aging supported Claude D. Pepper Older Americans Independence Center, and is an associate director of Wake Forest's Translational Sciences Institute. He has authored more than 250 peer-reviewed publications, and is the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Gerontology: Medical Sciences. He is broadly knowledgeable about issues related to health and aging in older adults, with particular expertise in the areas of obesity, body composition and nutrition.
