Gary G. Poehling, MD
Professor of Surgery - Orthopedics
The first active practitioner of arthroscopy in North Carolina (1972), Poehling is listed in both Best Doctors in America and America's Top Doctors. He has been editor of Arthroscopy, the Journal of Arthroscopic and Related Surgery, since 1992 and is past president of the International Society of Arthroscopy Knee Surgery and Sports Medicine. He is internationally recognized in shoulder, elbow, wrist, hand and knee surgery. He has developed a partial knee replacement and helped to develop wrist arthroscopy. Poehling is the former chair of orthopaedic surgery.
