M. Tamer Yalcinkaya, MD

Dr. Yalcinkaya, Assisted Reproductive Technology Director, has been active in the fields of reproductive technology and endocrinology-infertility for 23 years. He has extensive clinical experience in endometriosis, minimally invasive surgery, infertility, polycystic ovary syndrome, reproductive endocrinology, assisted reproductive technology, and fibroids. His research interests include ovarian physiology, steroid hormones, endometriosis, and fibroids. His previous experience included 14 years directing two IVF programs at West Virginia University. Here at Wake Forest Baptist, much of his focus has been on surgical procedures, including reproductive tract surgery to preserve fertility, fibroid removals, tubal repairs, sterilization reversals, endometriosis procedures and surgery for pelvic pain. Dr. Yalcinkaya received his MD with distinction from Istanbul University in Istanbul, Turkey going on to Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York, NY for his residency. He continued to learn his specialty by performing a Reproductive Endocrinology Fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco. He has participated in the publication of eight journal articles and 12 abstracts and he has participated in 15 grant studies. Additionally, he has given numerous lectures and presentations on infertility and assisted reproduction. He is listed in Best Doctors in America.
