The Nursing Research Council promotes creative, innovative thinking leading to new nursing research ideas and projects that result in positive patient outcomes.

Nursing Research Council activities include:

  • Increasing the educational component of nursing research and strengthening the use of the research process
  • Providing consistency throughout the organization for nursing research including:
  • Advancing use of Evidence-Based Practice (EBP)
  • Supporting link between EBP and research
  • Facilitating support for IRB process
  • Encouraging professionalism
  • Promoting recruitment and retention
  • Developing a forum for creative, innovative thinking
  • Generating new nursing research ideas and projects
  • Mentoring nurses to understand, evaluate and conduct nursing research
  • Increasing collaboration among nurses throughout the organization and nationally on nursing research
  • Increasing regional and national visibility of nursing research at WFUBMC
