Paul is responsible for commercializing the Predictive Assessment of Reading (PAR), a WF School of Medicine intellectual property, with the goal of spinning out Child’s Mind Publishing, a newly formed company. He has developed the business plan, marketing plan, elevator pitch, all marketing materials, an extensive ecommerce website, implemented promotions, conducted sales and has represented Child’s Mind Publishing at industry trade shows and conferences. Responsible for attracting venture funding to support the launch of the new company, Paul has negotiated with several potential investors and has presented the business plan to numerous investor groups, including presenting at the CED Venture Conference and the SIIA Ed Tech Summit. He is experienced in applying for STTR federal grants and has also has managed the responses to the patent application office actions and USPTO interviews for the Predictive Assessment of Reading. Paul has worked closely with the technology’s principal investigator to develop product extensions, including a new online version that will be targeted at a more receptive consumer market.

Paul has also handled Copyright and Trademark filings for OTAM and has coached internal WF groups on the viability of commercialization of WF assets and has negotiated non-IP licensing and collaboration agreements.

Paul has a BSEE from Clarkson University, and a Masters in Entrepreneurship from Western Carolina University. He is an experienced entrepreneur with a 20 year background in educational publishing (Simon & Schuster; Harcourt Brace), product development (GE), marketing (Sony) and sales (Pioneer and Larson Texts).
