Feedback from our Past Interns

"The internship at OTAM gave me insight into an exciting alternative career in science.  In only 4-6 hours a week, I was able to learn about the process of technology transfer while continuing to make good progress with my thesis work.  By working on a variety of inventions, I was exposed to the many different stages of commercializing a university-based technology.  I now have a new appreciation of what it means to take something 'from the bench to the bedside'.  I highly recommend this internship to anyone interested in exploring the field of technology transfer."

"Tech Transfer is an exhilarating field for which it is nearly impossible to receive formal education.  As a result, too few people know about it, and those who do have trouble breaking in.  In light of these things, my OTAM internship has been of extreme value- I'm not sure that there is any other way that I could have learned what I now know about the field, or more quickly beefed up my resume to make a job in tech transfer is a real possibility for me."

"The OTAM internship was a perfect fit because it gave me the unique opportunity to understand more about the field of technology transfer as well as provide me with valuable business experience that I could not obtain solely in the class room.   I had a very positive experience during my time in the OTAM office and have already recommended this internship to colleagues of mine who have similar career interests.  I now plan on pursuing a career in technology transfer and I hope that this brief experience at the OTAM office will help me transition into the field of business or law."
